The Hamilton County Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and collection of information and items representing the history of Hamilton County in Indiana. The Historical Society offers regular museum tours and can arrange special tours tailored to large groups if contacted in advance.

Carmel Clay Historical Society

The Carmel Clay Historical Society is dedicated to enriching the lives of the residents of Clay Township and the City of Carmel by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of the Monon Train Depot, the city of Carmel and Clay Township, and the people who have lived here. The CCHS fulfills its mission by providing educational services.

Indiana Historical Society

Since 1830, the Indiana Historical Society has been Indiana's Storyteller™, connecting people to the past by collecting, preserving and sharing the state's history. A private, nonprofit membership organization, IHS maintains the nation's premier research library and archives on the history of Indiana and the Old Northwest and presents a unique set of visitor experiences called the Indiana Experience. IHS also provides support and assistance to local museums and historical groups; publishes books and periodicals; sponsors teacher workshops; and provides youth, adult and family programs.

Indiana Genealogical Society

Formed in 1989, the Indiana Genealogical Society strives to help preserve and publish materials relating to the people who settled the state. IGS has been at the forefront of efforts to make Indiana’s historical records more accessible to the public by indexing and digitizing records. IGS has more than 500,000 records on its website, representing all 92 of Indiana’s counties.
